FAQ

What are your straps made of?

Most are 100% cotton fabrics & heavy duty nylon webbing ends.   On the inside I’ve added a 210D nylon layer so they are both strong and flexible.  I like for my straps to be flexible so I use a thin layer of padding, IMHO adding lots of padding only makes for a stiffer strap.  The nylon is high strength and extremely thin and flexible.  As with all new things they will soften up the more you use it but if you want to speed it up just throw it in the dryer on cool with a load of clothes.

How do I care for it?

They are machine washable/dryable on cold/cool.  Please remove the hardware though first and use a mesh lingerie bag so they don’t get tangled with your clothes.  For the ones with quick release ends buckle the ends together for best results.

The exception to this is the faux leather straps, please wipe clean and carefully spot clean the backs.

For my Artisan series straps I use colorfast inks and dyes, but be gentle with them, wash on delicate and dry cool or spot clean.

I drag my camera everywhere, thru the woods, thru the stream, down to the lake, thru abandoned houses….. I manage to keep my camera clean (mostly) but the strap seems to always find the yucky stuff!   It gets dirty, so I designed these to be washable.  I like things that can be thrown in the wash!

How long are they?

The standard or regular length camera straps have a 30” fabric section with approx.14” of 3/8” webbing on each end making them adjustable approximately 33”-46”

The extra-long ones have a 6” longer fabric section giving them an adjustable length of approx. 39”-53” making them perfect for cross body wearing or if you like for your camera to hang a little lower.

What if the end webbing is too long?

If the webbing is too long you may trim it with a pair of sharp scissors and seal the ends with a lighter.  Be sure not to cut too much off, and be careful, the webbing will be hot.

Will it fit my camera?

ten8e camera straps fit cameras that have a 3/8” wide connection slots.  This includes dSLR, SLR and mirrorless cameras.  Some cameras have eyelet style connections and require a set of split rings, these normally come with your camera but don’t worry, if you’ve misplaced yours I can include a new set for you, just be sure to let me know.  If you have any questions contact ten8e.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

I highly recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item. Refunds are not issued for non-delivered mail. Shipping insurance is highly recommended. USPS flat rate service works well as it includes both tracking and insurance.

How long does it take to get my new strap?

 US Orders:

I make most straps when they are ordered and this takes about 3-5 business days.  I do try to keep it under 3 days but during the Christmas Holiday season (Nov-Dec) 5 days is the norm.  These are my processing times, the time it takes USPS to deliver is additional.

For orders in the continental US shipped 1st class normally it takes 3-5 business days.  Priority 2-3 day and Priority Express are also offered.  All US orders include tracking

International Orders:

For international orders shipping times can vary from 2-6 weeks.

Tracking for international orders depends on the country.

Also be aware that your country may charge you a VAT (Value Added Tax) and handling fee upon entering your country.  I am not able nor allowed to pay this for you, this is a tax and fee charged by your country.  Sometimes this appears as postage due but it is charged by your Customs dept. and Postal Service.

Do you take orders for custom straps?

Sometimes, it depends on what the customization is.  Please don’t ask me to make anything that is Trademarked or Copyrighted.  Contact me and ask!
